Monaco recently showcased the future of e-performance, demonstrating electric mobility across land, sea, and track. From the silent glide of the all-electric Macan 4S through city streets to the innovative Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air on the Mediterranean, and the high-octane action of Formula E, the principality highlighted its long-standing commitment to an electrified future.
Monaco's Electric Vision
Monaco has been a pioneer in electromobility since the 1990s, long before it became a global trend. The city-state actively promoted electric vehicle adoption, offering free charging and establishing a robust charging infrastructure. Today, with approximately 300 public charging points across less than two square kilometers, every Monegasque is intended to have access to a free public charging station within 200 meters.
E-Performance On The Road
The all-electric Porsche Macan 4S, Porsche's first all-electric SUV, seamlessly integrates into Monaco's urban landscape. With an 800-volt architecture and DC charging up to 270 kW, it can recharge significantly in about 20 minutes. The Macan 4S boasts an overboost output of up to 380 kW (516 PS), offering impressive acceleration without compromising efficiency. This vehicle symbolizes a new generation of Porsche cars that blend performance with environmental responsibility.
Electrified Waters
The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air represents the pinnacle of electric boating. This 8.67-meter day cruiser, powered by a 100-kWh HV battery and a 400 kW (540 PS) electric motor derived from the Macan, achieves speeds of around 90 km/h (49 knots) in Sport Plus mode. It charges from 10 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes thanks to Porsche's 800-volt technology. The eFantom has received prestigious awards, including "Powerboat of the Year" in the Electric category at boot Düsseldorf 2025 and the "Best of Boats Award" in the Best Electric category at Boot & Fun in Berlin.
Formula E: The Ultimate Test Lab
Monaco's legendary street circuit hosts Formula E, where all-electric racing cars have competed since 2015. The current GEN3 Evo race cars, weighing just over 850 kilograms, boast an output of up to 350 kW (467 PS). Porsche's 99X Electric race car demonstrates remarkable energy efficiency, recuperating up to 600 kW during braking. This allows drivers to complete entire races on a single charge, recovering up to 55 percent of energy through recuperation. Formula E serves as a crucial test laboratory for Porsche, with insights directly influencing the development of production sports cars.
