Porsche 911 GT3 Gets a Track-Focused Manthey Kit for Enhanced Aerodynamics and Performance

Porsche has unveiled the new Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3, a performance upgrade package specifically designed for track enthusiasts. This kit significantly enhances aerodynamics, delivering increased downforce and improved cornering speeds. Developed in collaboration with Manthey engineers, the components aim to elevate the 911 GT3's already impressive track capabilities beyond the Weissach Package.

Key Takeaways

  • Enhanced aerodynamics with up to 540 kg of downforce at 285 km/h.

  • Modified four-way adjustable coilover suspension for circuit use.

  • Optimized brake components and optional lightweight forged wheels.

  • Achieved a faster Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 6:52.981 minutes.

  • Available globally through Porsche Centres starting March 2026.

High-Performance Aerodynamics

The Manthey Kit introduces substantial aerodynamic improvements to the 911 GT3. The underbody has been redesigned into a continuous aerodynamic element, with extended air deflector elements that generate additional downforce efficiently. The front lip is extended, and special front diffusor fins and side flaps increase downforce on the front axle. The rear wing is wider and features a Gurney flap with enlarged, inwardly curved end plates for optimal airflow. The rear diffuser's longer fins boost downforce without increasing drag. Carbon-fibre wheel covers (aerodiscs) at the rear reduce drag. In road mode, the 911 GT3 with the Manthey Kit produces 355 kg of downforce at 285 km/h, which increases to an impressive 540 kg in circuit mode.

Track-Optimized Suspension and Brakes

Porsche and Manthey have collaborated on a special four-way adjustable coilover suspension system that can be adapted for circuit use. The suspension struts allow for tool-free adjustment of rebound and compression. Moderately adjusted spring rates, 10 percent stiffer on the front axle compared to the predecessor, contribute to improved handling at the limit and better stability, especially over kerbs. Lightweight 20- and 21-inch forged wheels are available as an option, reducing unsprung mass by six kg. The kit includes braided steel brake lines for precise pressure and control. For the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system, special racing brake pads are available as an option.

Customization and Performance Validation

The Manthey Kit offers extensive accessory options for further individualization, including carbon door sill trims with illuminated Manthey lettering and LED door projectors. Carbon aerodiscs are available in various colours, and tow straps for circuit use can be added. The kit's performance was validated on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where the 911 GT3 with the Manthey Kit, equipped with optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, completed the 20.8-kilometer circuit in 6:52.981 minutes. This time is 2.76 seconds faster than the previous generation 911 GT3 with the Manthey Kit, even under less-than-ideal track conditions. The factory warranty for the 911 GT3 remains fully intact with the Manthey Kit installed.
