The Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland is gearing up for the second half of its 2025 season, with the next crucial rounds taking place at the iconic Nürburgring from August 8-10. This event marks the ninth and tenth races of the season, promising intense competition as drivers vie for championship points.
Title Race Heats Up at Nürburgring
The championship battle is heating up as Robert de Haan leads the standings by a mere four points over Porsche Junior Alessandro Ghiretti. De Haan, who has secured three victories this season, aims to maintain his lead at the Nürburgring, a track where he achieved two third-place finishes last year.
Ghiretti's Nürburgring Challenge
Alessandro Ghiretti, a debutant in the German Carrera Cup with two wins to his name, faces the challenge of learning the Nürburgring circuit, having only experienced it in Formula 4. He emphasizes the importance of the upcoming test sessions to familiarize himself with the 3.629-kilometer track.
Young Talent and Category Leaders
Flynt Schuring, at 18 years old, sits third in the standings, tied on points with fellow Dutchman Huub van Eijndhoven. Schuring is the highest-placed driver from the Porsche Deutschland Talent Pool.
Sacha Norden leads the Rookies standings, while Michael Schrey is at the top of the ProAm category.
Debut of the New Porsche 911 Cup Car
A significant highlight of the Nürburgring weekend will be the first public appearance of the new Porsche 911 Cup car. Based on the latest 992.2 generation, this refined race car will replace the current 911 GT3 Cup (992.1) and is slated for its race debut in 2026.
Sustainable Racing with Synthetic Fuel
In a commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, along with ADAC's DTM, ADAC GT Masters, and GT4 Germany series, will utilize the synthetic fuel "DTM Pro Climate" throughout the 2025 season.
