Porsche's "Racing for Charity" initiative at the 24 Hours of Le Mans has once again demonstrated the powerful synergy between high-performance motorsport and philanthropic endeavors. The three Porsche 963 cars, fielded by the Porsche Penske Motorsport factory team, collectively completed 1,159 laps, translating into a substantial donation of 600,000 euros for critically ill children.
Le Mans Laps Drive Significant Donations
At the recent 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche continued its impactful "Racing for Charity" program. For every lap completed by its factory team's Porsche 963 cars, the sports car manufacturer pledged 500 euros. The combined 1,159 laps initially raised 579,500 euros, which Porsche generously rounded up to a total of 600,000 euros.
Beneficiaries of the Charitable Initiative
The substantial donation will be equally distributed between two vital non-profit children's aid organizations:
Interplast Germany e.V.: This organization specializes in humanitarian plastic surgery, providing life-changing treatments to children and young people suffering from severe deformities due to accidents, burns, congenital malformations, or chronic wounds.
Kinderherzen retten e.V.: In partnership with the University Hospital Freiburg, this support association facilitates critical, one-time heart surgeries for children from medically underserved countries, enabling them to lead healthy lives.
A Legacy of Giving: Over 2.4 Million Euros Raised
Since its inception in 2023, the "Racing for Charity" initiative has amassed over 2.4 million euros, underscoring Porsche's sustained commitment to social responsibility. This program is a key component of Porsche's broader philanthropic efforts, which in 2024 supported more than 110 projects worldwide across various sectors including sport, culture, environment, social responsibility, science, and education.

Porsche Penske Motorsport was once again honored with the Sustainability Endurance Award by Le Mans organizer ACO. This accolade, also received in 2023, acknowledges the team's significant dedication to sustainability and social responsibility.
