Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland is set to ignite Circuit Zandvoort for its third Formula 1 venue of the season. The iconic Dutch track will host races five and six, featuring the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars. Local hero Robert de Haan leads the championship, promising an electrifying weekend of high-speed action and technical prowess.

Zandvoort's Unique Challenges

Circuit Zandvoort, nestled in the dunes of the Dutch North Sea coast, presents a formidable challenge for drivers. Its 4.259-kilometer layout includes two steeply banked corners, the Hugenholtz Bocht and the Arie Luyendyk Bocht, with the latter boasting an impressive 32 percent banking. These unique features, combined with crests, dips, and unpredictable grip conditions due to sand blown onto the track by sea breezes, demand exceptional skill and precision from competitors.

Championship Leaders and Rising Stars

  • Robert de Haan (Proton Huber Competition): The 18-year-old Dutch sensation leads the championship with 75 points and two wins, including both Carrera Cup races at Imola and a recent Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup victory in Monaco. He expresses his love for Zandvoort's technically demanding nature and iconic corners like Tarzan Bocht.

  • Alessandro Ghiretti (Schumacher CLRT): The Porsche Junior from France is hot on de Haan's heels in second place with 69 points and one win. He recently secured his first German Carrera Cup victory at Spa-Francorchamps and a Supercup win in Barcelona.

  • Theo Oeverhaus (Bonk Motorsport): The German Porsche Junior holds third place with 54 points, aiming for two strong races at Zandvoort after his Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup win at Imola.

Rookie and ProAm Standings

  • Rookies: Sacha Norden of Proton Huber Competition currently tops the Rookies standings after four races.

  • ProAm: Michael Essmann from Team75 Bernhard leads the ProAm category, which is dedicated to drivers without a professional motorsport background.

A Special Event

Thorsten Rückert, Project Manager of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, highlights the Zandvoort doubleheader as a season highlight, noting the holiday atmosphere and packed grandstands. This year marks the first time the series will race alongside the DTM, adding to the excitement.

Commitment to Sustainability

In a significant move towards reducing CO2 emissions, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland will utilize the synthetic fuel "DTM Pro Climate" across all eight race weekends in the 2025 season. This initiative is also being adopted by ADAC for its DTM, ADAC GT Masters, and GT4 Germany series.
